Biography

A creator for community and connection, Kassidee has found her place in Lawrence, KS over the past 14 years. She transitioned from KU Alumni status, to working professionally under her Freelance Design Studio, Kassidee Quaranta Design Co. LLC. She now serves as the Digital Media Coordinator for Academic Success. In this role, she serves to further build on collaboration and expansion of established KU standards and practices to unite the student support service branches of Academic Success. In working with the student facing side of the department, she helps to create accessible and cohesive designs and strategies to create a pathway for all students to succeed.

*“Quaranta’s interest in art began early as she grew up with a working-artist mother – she also tagged along frequently with her dad, which involved blueprints (an introduction she credits with instilling her love for 3D art). Quaranta’s Colorado school district embraced the arts – When Quaranta studied illustration and animation at The University of Kansas, she encountered cut-paper art in a class under Barry Fitzgerald – “A spark went off in my head, I dove deep into the world of cut paper art and sculpture, which is where I began my self-teaching journey.”

In the past 10 years she has worked nonstop in the art and design industry, taking on nationwide commissions and contracted work for various clients spanning the entire United States. www.KassideeQuaranta.com

She prides herself on her involvement with all walks of life here in Kansas. She feels her personal and professional successes alike hold more merit through her active involvement in this work that grew from her art. She continues to work with and for Survivors, Social Justice Advocates, Tribal Relations, Child Advocacy Programs and all populations predisposed to discrimination. She believes that equality and accessibility are necessary to create a better future.

She is thrilled to continue her Jayhawk Journey working directly with students, where she hopes to carve paths that lead to continued successes after Graduation Tassels become mementos for the years to come.

Kassidee earned her undergraduate degree with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design with a Concentration in Visual Communications and Illustration.
